Founded in 2003, Coaching Mums is a company devoted to teaching and supporting working mothers around the world how to break out of pressure-cooked, guilt ridden vicious circles. Coaching Mums enables women to create career and business success on their own terms, ditch the guilt, cope with the pressures of modern life, manage their time better, enjoy their family, feel good about themselves as a mother and as a woman in their own right.. and have a lot more fun!
Amanda Alexander, Founder and Director of Coaching Mums is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF).
Amanda is professionally trained as a Coach by Coachu, the largest and one of the finest and most respected coach training schools in the world. She is an advanced coach training programme graduate from Coachu, having passed their rigorous Coachu Certified Graduate certification.
Unless you are a professional coach, all this may mean very little, so let's run through a few facts about what it takes to achieve Professional Certified Coach (PCC) status with the ICF and Coachu Certified Graduate (CUCG) status with Coachu:
ICF accreditation is awarded only after stringent assessment and few coaches hold this accreditation in the UK or Worldwide. In a profession that is as yet unregulated and in which anyone can call themselves a coach with little or no training, ICF accreditation is the litmus test of rigour and quality in a coach.
It's unlikely that you will find a mum's coach in the UK with the combination of such high coaching credentials and as much experience specialising in coaching mums.
Amanda, a mum to two boys aged seven and two, empathises with the challenges and the "non stop" nature of being a working mum in the 21st century, as she has experienced a fair number of them herself!
Formerly a Project Manager in the IT industry, working and living in the UK and Africa, motherhood provided the catalyst for a change to a career in coaching for Amanda.
At five months pregnant with her first son, Max, Amanda's husband was made redundant just after they had completed on the sale of a house with a large mortgage! A few weeks later, Amanda herself was threatened with redundancy.
Faced with the prospect of a new baby, a huge mortgage, possibly no job after maternity leave, a husband with no job and maintenance payments for two children from his previous marriage, Amanda felt absolutely stuck. Returning to work full time when Max was six months old, the turbulent life changes prompted Amanda to think radically about what she wanted for her life as a woman and as a mum. She went through this life changing process with the help of her own Life Coach, and it was the incredibly effective and powerful experience of being coached herself that led Amanda to retraining and changing career.
Amanda has never looked back! Since 2003, when she embarked upon her first life coaching training course. She has helped thousands of mums throughout the world via life, career, business and executive coaching programmes, keynotes, workshops and her popular, highly acclaimed free ezine, Inspire.
Amanda knows that working mothers can create the work and life they deserve, whether they do so via a series of small shifts or big leaps. Through her professional coaching programmes and online life coaching courses, Amanda shows working mums how to experience success and balance inside and out, and to create a life of success, fulfilment and happiness. She is passionate about helping working mums to thrive, not just survive.
"You could read a whole book about a coach and still not truly know if she is the right coach for you. It doesn't matter what experience or qualifications I have if we don't "click"! The only way to know if I'm the right coach for you is to book a 30 minute "Chemistry Call" with me to find out if we are a good match as coach and coachee.
This initial call is free as I don't take on any client if I don't think I can partner with her to co-create great results. You can book a Coaching Mums Chemistry Call by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page, or by going straight to the contact form. Let me know what you'd like to achieve from coaching, and we'll take it from there!"
